Born 26 years ago in Nairobi’s Kayole estate, Brian Robert Ouko popularly known by his stage name Khaligraph Jones is the rapper causing ripples in the Hip Hop industry.
The talented rapper who fell in love with music at a very young age is known for his lyrical prowess that has endeared him to many Hip hop lovers in the country.
While still young, the hardships he encountered in Nairobi’s Eastland’s made him fall in love with Hip hop music because that’s where he could express himself comfortably.
Khaligraph who can rap comfortably in both English and Swahili is one of the few rappers in the country who has mastered the art of the game.
Something most people may not know is that he has had his try at the gospel music industry,
"While in primary school, i teamed up with friends and formed a gospel group before branching out into rap music because that’s where my heart was"
Khaligraph who was influenced by his elder brother to take up the art started doing music seriously in 2007 and has grown to establish himself as a force to reckon with in the music industry.
“I do music out of passion, I don’t look at the money or the fame,” he said in an interview with Mdundo
Seems like music is the only thing in Khaligraph’s mind and when asked what he would be doing apart from music, the rapper’s response was “ I can’t imagine myself doing anything else apart from music,’
The rapper looks up to Jaguar and looks up to Nairobi senator Mike Sonko as his biggest role models; he lauds the two philanthropists for their charity work in the society.
The rapper who has recorded over 400 songs since he started doing music promises his fans more music with local artists such as Rabbit and even revealed that he will be working with international acts this year.
